The changes made in each version of PlayerPal are listed below. You can now check which version you have by hovering over the PlayerPal system tray icon (unless it is a service release :( ).
PlayerPal Version 4.2 (service release 7)
This is a service release. It contains the following changes:

Vista support.
- Change: Beta - Altered indexing to try and resolve the lumping together of tracks on albums with same name.
- Fix: Fixed search bug where hitting enter in the search box did not do a search.

Change: Removed need for runtime admin privileges (still requires admin privs to install)
- Change: Prohibited install on 64 bit OS' (due to interop with WMP on 64 bit being unstable, see this ).
- Change: Requires that you have the .NET framework 2.0 installed on your PlayerPal PC.
- New: You can now tell PlayerPal to look for album art via a custom
name format setting. This defaults to "{0} - {1}" which translates to
"artist name - album name".
- Removed support for WMP 10 & earlier.

PlayerPal Version 4.2 (service release 3)
This is a service release. It contains the following changed:
- Fix: Disabled hyperlinks on Vista
- Change: No longer requires .NET 1.1. Should work on 1.1 or 2.
PlayerPal Version 4.2 (service release 2)
This is a service release. It contains the following changed:
- Added playlist support to SonyPSP skin & BigBrowser!
- Fixed crash caused when launching Firefox from PlayerPal menu.

PlayerPal Version 4.2 (service release 1)
This is a service release. It contains the following fixes:
- Fixed: Letter E missing from the SonyPSP A to Z library browser.
- Fixed: Get error “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” when your iTunes library is not called Library and you try and add tracks to your playlist. Previous workaround details.
- Fixed: Get error “Culture name is not supported…” when using PlayerPal from certain browsers. Previous workaround details.
- Fixed: Get error “There is no music in the PlayerPal library. The library exists but there is nothing in it.” When using PlayerPal in country that uses the comma character as a decimal place. Previous workaround details.

PlayerPal Version 4.1

Fixed: Not ordering by track number properly
I just realised this issue is not fixed :(
- Back button link in BigBrowser playlist view and SonyPSP playlist view to simulate Back button (for full screen users)
- Fixed: Pause pauses rather than stops the current song.
- If you exit PlayerPal while syncing with library you get a warning.
- Make first start of PlayerPal be localhost.
- Fixed: Failure to index track may have prevented full library index
- Add PlayerPal version to tray icon hover popup
